Step 8

Your account & community profile

There are two different things with the word "profile" nearby, and it helps to keep them apart. One is just the basics Yuimaru needs to reach you. The other is how you show up to other people at an event. Let's take them one at a time.

Two different things

You don't have to fill in the community profile at all if you'd rather not. Your account is the only part Yuimaru really needs.

Your account

You reach this from the Account link in the top-right corner. It opens a screen called "Profile & preferences". Here's what's on it.

A profile photo

You can add a picture of yourself. If you don't have one yet, you'll see an Add photo button; tap it and your phone or computer opens its picture picker so you can choose one. Once you have a photo, the buttons change to Replace and Remove, so you can swap or clear it later.

  1. Tap Add photo

It's near the top of the "Profile & preferences" screen.

  2. Pick a photo from your device

Your phone or computer opens its picture picker. Choose the photo you'd like to use, and it uploads and appears straight away.

  3. Swap or remove it any time

To change it later, tap Replace and pick a different one, or Remove to clear it.

A cover image (optional)

Just below your photo there's an optional Cover image — a banner shown behind your community profile. Add one the same way, or leave it empty: Yuimaru then gently tints the space with the average colour of your photo, so it always looks tidy.

Display name, email & switches

Below the photo you'll find these fields:

Ada
ada@email.com

Your Display name is what Yuimaru calls you. You can change it whenever you like. Your Email is shown but can't be edited here; underneath it Yuimaru explains why: "Used to sign in and to reach you about your registrations."

Under Notifications there are three on/off switches, the same three you'll find in the app:

When you've made your changes, press Save changes. The button shows "Saved ✓" to confirm.

At the very bottom there are two links onwards: Your acro profile →, which opens the community profile described below, and Privacy & data →, which takes you to how you sign in, what you consent to, and the tools for getting a copy of your data or deleting your account — we cover those next, in chapter 8.

Your community profile

This is your acroyoga/acrobatics identity — the little card other people see when they look at "Who's coming" to an event. It's entirely up to you how much you share. You open it from the profile editor. Here's what you can fill in.

When you're happy, press Preview to see exactly how you'll look to others, then Save changes to store it.

Who can see it: Visibility

The Visibility setting decides who sees your community profile. There are three choices, and they're all in your hands:

You can change this any time

Visibility isn't a one-time decision. Switch between Public and Private whenever you like — your profile appears or disappears from "Who's coming" to match.

Common questions

What's the difference between my account and my community profile?

Your account is the private basics Yuimaru needs — your name, email, and a couple of preferences. Your community profile is the social one: how you appear to other people at an event under "Who's coming". You can fill in the community profile as much or as little as you like.

Why can't I change my email?

Your email is how you sign in and how Yuimaru reaches you about your registrations, so it's shown but locked on the "Profile & preferences" screen. If you truly need to change it, contact the organiser or support.

How do I appear in "Who's coming"?

Fill in your community profile and set its Visibility to Public. That's what makes you show up in the "Who's coming" list for an event.

Who can see my profile?

You decide with the Visibility setting. Public means others at the event can see it, Hide email keeps your address private while showing the rest, and Private means only you can see it.

How do I add a photo?

On the "Profile & preferences" screen, tap Add photo and your device's picture picker opens — choose one and it uploads straight away. To change it later, tap Replace, or Remove to clear it.
